Course Summary

Teaching is a beautiful profession, but also physically and emotionally demanding. With increasing burnout across Europe, educators need accessible tools to restore balance, manage stress, and reconnect with themselves.

Move to Heal is a dance-based wellbeing course designed for educators who want to explore how movement, rhythm and body awareness can enhance emotional health, resilience, and stress recovery.

Using a blend of guided movement, creative dance, breathwork, and somatic practices, participants will experience how the body can become a source of vitality, presence and emotional regulation, both for themselves and for their students.

No dance experience is needed: just curiosity and openness to move, breathe, release and reconnect.

PRACTICAL APPLICATION

Methodological Approach to Dance and Movement

In this course, dance and movement are not presented solely as artistic or personal well-being activities, but as pedagogical methodologies that can be directly transferred into educational and training contexts.

Participants are guided to translate movement-based practices into concrete educational applications, focusing on emotional regulation, group dynamics, communication, inclusive learning environments, and professional well-being in education.

All activities are embedded within a structured daily programme of 5 hours of guided educational content, combining theory, practice, reflection, and pedagogical transfer, in line with Erasmus+ quality and eligibility requirements.

All sessions are facilitated by qualified trainers with professional experience in education, adult learning, and movement-based methodologies, ensuring methodological rigour and alignment with Erasmus+ quality standards.

Practical Transfer to Educational Settings

Throughout the course, participants will:

  • Learn how short movement and dance-based activities can be integrated into lessons or training sessions to improve attention, emotional regulation, motivation, and readiness to learn.
  • Explore body awareness and expressive movement techniques that can be safely adapted for learners of different ages and abilities, supporting stress reduction and inclusive educational environments.
  • Use dance and structured movement as tools to foster self-regulation, creativity, and non-verbal communication in the classroom or training space.
  • Develop strategies to apply movement-based methodologies to improve group cohesion, classroom climate, cooperation, and conflict prevention.
  • Analyse how movement and embodied learning can support key transversal competences such as emotional intelligence, self-confidence, empathy, diverse learning needs and social interaction.

Pedagogical Application and Reflection

Participants are required to:

  • Reflect on how dance and movement-based methodologies can be adapted to their own educational context (school, adult education centre, vocational training, or non-formal learning).
  • Design simple, realistic action plans describing how they will integrate movement and dance activities into their professional practice after the course.
  • Participate in guided group discussions to critically assess benefits, limitations, ethical considerations, and cultural sensitivity when applying movement-based methodologies in education.

The course does not aim at therapeutic intervention, but at equipping educators with practical, ethically responsible pedagogical tools to support learning processes, emotional climate, inclusion, and professional well-being.

This course’s learning outcomes are to:

Reviews

We were lucky to be tohether with Sonia and the other participants from the world. I enjoyed it a lot.

Ivana

/ Czech Republic

The arrival was well organized, with enough time for breaks and to explore the surroundings. It created a relaxed atmosphere where we could exchange experiences and learn from one another.
During the course, I discovered how much potential we all carry within ourselves and gained a deeper understanding of what Move to Heal means. I learned the importance of respecting my own boundaries as well as those of others. It also became clear that everyone is different, and that these differences enrich the learning process.
The teacher also brought a great wealth of experience, which made the course especially valuable and inspiring.
