Through hands-on sessions, expert-led workshops, and collaborative projects, you will discover innovative therapeutic techniques and diverse artistic mediums to enrich learning and personal development.

PRACTICAL APPLICATION

Methodological Approach to Art-Based Education and Wellbeing

In this course, art-based activities are not presented as clinical or therapeutic interventions, but as educational and creative methodologies that support learning, self-expression, emotional awareness and professional wellbeing in educational contexts.

Participants are guided to explore how visual arts and creative processes can be used as pedagogical tools to foster reflection, communication, inclusion, and engagement in education and training environments.

All activities are embedded within a structured daily program of 5 hours of educational content, combining theory, practice, reflection, pedagogical transfer in line with Erasmus+ quality and eligibility requirements.

All sessions are facilitated by qualified trainers with professional experience in education, adult learning and psychosocial well-being, ensuring methodological rigour and alignment with Erasmus+ quality standards.

Practical Transfer to Educational Settings

Throughout the course, participants will:

  • Explore art-based creative activities as tools to support emotional awareness, stress reduction and engagement in educational environments.

  • Learn how visual arts, creative expression and reflective art practices can be adapted for use with learners of different ages and backgrounds.

  • Analyse how art-based methodologies can enhance communication, inclusion and group dynamics in classrooms and training settings.

  • Develop strategies to integrate creative activities into educational practice to support emotional climate, motivation and learner participation.

  • Examine examples and case studies where art-based approaches are used to address stress, disengagement and diverse learning needs in education.

Pedagogical Application and Reflection

Participants are encouraged to:

  • Reflect on how art-based methodologies can be adapted to their own educational context (school, adult education centre, vocational training or non-formal learning).

  • Identify simple, realistic ways to integrate creative and reflective art activities into their professional practice.

  • Participate in guided discussions to critically consider ethical aspects, boundaries and cultural sensitivity when using art-based approaches in education.

The course aims at equipping educators with practical, ethically responsible educational tools that support learning processes, inclusion, communication and professional wellbeing.

  • Understand Art Therapy Foundations: Grasp the fundamental principles of art therapy, including its history, key techniques, and its role in educational settings.
  • Develop Skills in Art-Based Interventions: Learn to design and implement effective art-based interventions that support emotional, cognitive, and social development for students with special needs.
  • Use Art for Expression and Connection: Harness art as a medium to foster creativity, enhance communication, and support emotional well-being.
  • Design Personalized Art Programs: Develop art experiences that cater to diverse creative needs, ensuring meaningful engagement for all participants.
  • Assess and Document Progress: Master techniques for assessing students’ progress through art therapy and maintaining records to track developmental milestones and therapeutic outcomes.
  • Foster an Inclusive Classroom Environment: Gain strategies to promote an inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation and expression across abilities.
  • Empower educators to create practical and meaningful experiences.
  • Improve technical and English language, communication and social skills.
  • Promote intercultural awareness.
  • Transfer and share core values, experiences and effective teaching practices between educators from different contexts and regions.
  • Motivate and inspire educators to contribute, through their areas of action, to building more coherent, harmonious societies.

• Open space for participants to share ideas and discuss current challenges in the Education sector; collaborative opportunity to exchange future goals (activity)

• Digital Art Therapy Techniques - Using Technology to Enhance Creativity

• Art Therapy for Emotional and Social Development

• Emotional Expression Through Art - Case Studies and Activities
