Course Summary

The Mediterranean lifestyle is internationally recognised as one of the healthiest and most sustainable ways of living. More than a diet, it represents a holistic approach that combines balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, social interaction, cultural traditions and a strong connection with nature.

This course explores how the principles of the Mediterranean lifestyle can support wellbeing, healthy habits and sustainable living within educational environments. Participants will examine the scientific foundations of healthy lifestyles, the impact of wellbeing on teaching and learning, and the role schools can play in promoting balanced routines, responsible consumption and healthy communities.

Through lectures, collaborative discussions, case studies and practical activities, educators will explore strategies to integrate health education, wellbeing and sustainable lifestyle practices into school life. The programme also includes a Mediterranean food culture workshop and the design of school healthy lifestyle projects, enabling participants to translate course knowledge into practical initiatives that can be implemented in their schools.
