Course Summary
We are currently navigating an era where technological advancements continue to reshape our world. The rapid proliferation of information, facilitated by fast-changing technology, poses a formidable challenge for educators striving to comprehend the needs, interests, and capabilities of today’s youth.
Reducing early school leaving remains a paramount objective within the Europe 2020 Strategic Framework for Education and Training, as well as in Erasmus+ initiatives. This course is designed to introduce participants to GROW coaching techniques and emotional freedom techniques, crucial tools for addressing early school leaving. Additionally, the course will delve into the analysis of aggressive behaviour and bullying, both within the classroom environment and beyond.
Through practical coaching exercises, participants will learn effective stress management techniques, communication strategies, and methods to improve overall well-being. By fostering emotional awareness and supportive dialogue, educators will be empowered to build healthier relationships with students and colleagues, ultimately contributing to a reduction in school dropout rates.

It’s crucial to instil positive values, even amidst challenging conditions and cultural diversity. This entails mastering management techniques tailored for both personal and organizational growth. Participants will gain a comprehensive grasp of coaching frameworks and models, honing core coaching skills such as observation, feedback, questioning, active listening, raising awareness, and building authentic relationships.
Course Goals
Learning Outcomes:
- Reduce stress levels, overcome anxiety and develop the necessary abilities to manage emotions within the classroom;
- Analyse bullying, and aggressive behaviour (physical and verbal), creating strategies on how to deal with and eliminate them;
- Learn Coaching models and innovative techniques;
- Identify limiting and negative beliefs and transform them into positive and supporting ones;
- Understand physical and mental health issues within the teaching profession;
- Improve interpersonal relationships;
- Introduce new tools and resources within the classroom to foster well-being – Reduce early school leaving;
- Enhance communicative competence in English;
- Transfer and share core values, experiences and effective teaching practices with other teachers and colleagues;
- Provide teachers with an insight into Porto and Portuguese culture and heritage.
