Course Summary

Teachers confront significant challenges. They must adapt curricula to a wide range of learning styles, manage shifting education policies, attend to students with special needs, and do administrative work.

Starting a regular habit of meditation can help us to improve concentration, reduce stress & anxiety, alleviate depression and generally improve our mental wellbeing. Yoga has long been known to be a great antidote to stress. Yoga combines many popular stress-reducing techniques, including exercise and learning to control the breath, clear the mind, and relax the body. Through guidance, you will discover ways to nurture your body and mind and experience more moments of reflection, clarity, empowerment, and connection in your daily lives.   

This course aims to identify the causes of anxiety and learn how to manage and eliminate it.

PRACTICAL APPLICATION

Methodological Approach to Mindfulness, Yoga and Meditation

In this course, mindfulness, yoga and meditation are not presented as personal wellbeing activities only, but as pedagogical tools that can be directly transferred into educational and training contexts.

Participants are guided to translate each practice into concrete educational applications, focusing on classroom management, learning environments, communication, and professional wellbeing in education.

All activities are embedded within a structured daily program of 5 hours of educational content, combining theory, practice, reflection, pedagogical transfer in line with Erasmus+ quality and eligibility requirements.

All sessions are facilitated by qualified trainers with professional experience in education, adult learning and psychosocial well-being, ensuring methodological rigour and alignment with Erasmus+ quality standards.

Practical Transfer to Educational Settings

Throughout the course, participants will:

  • Learn how short mindfulness practices (2–10 minutes) can be integrated into the beginning or end of lessons to improve attention, emotional regulation, and readiness to learn.
  • Practice breathing techniques and body awareness exercises that can be safely adapted for use with learners of different ages to reduce anxiety, manage stress, and support inclusive learning environments.
  • Explore movement-based yoga techniques adapted for educational settings (e.g. chair-based or classroom-friendly exercises) to support concentration, posture, and self-regulation.
  • Develop strategies to use mindfulness to improve teacher-student communication, conflict prevention, and the emotional climate in the classroom.
  • Learn how meditation techniques can support executive functions such as focus, decision-making, impulse control, and reflective thinking, which are key competences in education.
  • Analyse case studies and real classroom scenarios where mindfulness-based approaches are applied to address stress, behavioural challenges, and diverse learning needs.

Pedagogical Application and Reflection

Participants are required to:

  • Reflect on how each methodology can be adapted to their own educational context (school, adult education centre, vocational training, or non-formal learning).
  • Design simple, realistic action plans describing how they will apply mindfulness, yoga, or meditation practices in their professional practice after the course.
  • Participate in group discussions to critically assess benefits, limitations, ethical considerations, and cultural sensitivity when applying these methodologies in education.
  • The course does not aim at therapeutic intervention but at equipping educators with practical, ethically responsible tools to support learning processes, classroom climate, and professional wellbeing.

Course Goals

The course’s main goal is for the participants to identify areas of improvement and how to become effective communicators in stressful situations. The learning environment includes instruction, exercises, small and large group discussions, and lots of hands-on practice. Our goal is to help our participants to develop skills in handling pressure and a sense of confidence.

  • Promote happiness through healthy habits of the mind Integrate  mindful awareness into a Yoga class;
  • Adaptation and promote changes;
  • Effectively manage communication breakdowns;
  • Agree to communication action plans.

The daily schedule/ program describes likely activities but may differ based on the trainer's discretion and objectives. Classes are scheduled for either the morning or afternoon, based on the provider's preference.
