Course Summary
To understand personalized learning, imagine a classroom where education moves beyond a traditional “one size fits all” model. Rather than guiding every student through identical lessons at the exact same pace, teachers facilitate individualized learning journeys tailored to each student’s unique strengths, skills, needs, and interests. While students progress along varied pathways, personalized learning frameworks ensure that all learners remain on track to achieve essential curriculum standards and secondary diploma requirements.
This course equips educators with actionable strategies to transition toward flexible, student-centered learning environments. Participants explore Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles, learner profiling, blended learning models, project-based learning (PBL), and adaptive EdTech tools. Educators learn how to analyze learning analytics, design custom Personalized Learning Plans (PLPs), and manage differentiated classroom dynamics, ready to inspire diverse learners, enhance student agency, and foster inclusive school environments across Europe.
Course Goals
By the end of this course, participants will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to effectively implement personalized learning in their classrooms, fostering an environment where each student can thrive according to their unique strengths and interests.
Learning outcomes:
- Analyze the core principles of personalized learning and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to address diverse student interests and academic paces.
- Design and implement customized Personalized Learning Plans (PLPs) that align individual student goals with institutional curriculum standards.
- Utilize adaptive EdTech platforms, digital content creation tools, and learning analytics to track progress and differentiate instruction.
- Implement flexible classroom management strategies, blended learning models (station rotation, flipped classroom), and project-based learning (PBL) units.
- Evaluate student growth, engagement, and the effectiveness of personalized interventions using formative assessment techniques.
- Formulate an institutional differentiation roadmap to foster inclusive, student-centered learning communities in home schools.
- Collaborate with European peers to exchange inclusive teaching practices, promote intercultural awareness, and enhance professional English communication skills.
Daily Program
DAY 1
Cross-Cultural Exchange, European Educational Context & Course Orientation
- Pre-Session work: Self Preparation to share your school’s context, cultural background and completion of the Cultural Quiz.
- Welcome Session: Networking between participants and Erasmus+ team
- Icebreaking activities and sharing of European core values.
- Open space for participants to share ideas and discuss current challenges in the Education sector; collaborative opportunity to exchange future goals (activity).
- Week briefing and planning.
DAY 2
Foundations of Personalized Learning & Inclusive Pedagogies
- Defining personalized learning: moving away from 'one size fits all' approaches
- Exploring benefits for student agency
- Aligning personalized learning with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) frameworks.
DAY 3
Learner Profiles & Data-Informed Strategies
- Constructing and utilizing comprehensive learner profiles
- Assessing student learning preferences, readiness, strengths
- Leveraging classroom data to inform differentiation
- Designing a Personalized Learning Plan (PLP).
DAY 4
Flexible Learning Environments, Blended Learning & PBL
- Designing adaptable physical and virtual learning spaces
- Implementing blended learning models: flipped classroom, station rotation, individual playlists
- Integrating Project-Based Learning (PBL).
DAY 5
EdTech Platforms, Adaptive Tools & Digital Content Creation
- Overview of adaptive digital tools, software, AI-assisted platforms
- Utilizing learning analytics to monitor student growth
- Creating interactive, accessible digital content tailored to varied paces.
DAY 6
Curriculum Integration, Evaluation & Action Plan Presentation
- Participant project showcase, peer feedback
- Course Roundup, Evaluation & Review
- Erasmus documents validation and Certification.
