Course Summary
To understand personalized learning, imagine a classroom where education isn’t a “one size fits all” approach. Instead of guiding all students through the same lessons, the teacher directs each student on a personalized journey. The what, when, where, and how of learning are customized to each student’s strengths, skills, needs, and interests.
While students may learn certain skills at different paces, their personalized learning plans still ensure they stay on track to meet the standards for a high school diploma.
This type of classroom isn’t the norm yet, but it’s the goal of personalized learning. This approach is already being successfully implemented in some schools and is expanding in several states. Here’s what you need to know.
Personalized learning acknowledges that kids learn in different ways and at different paces. This teaching model creates a unique “learning plan” for each student based on how they learn, what they know, and their skills and interests. It’s the opposite of the traditional “one size fits all” approach used in most schools.
Course Goals
By the end of this course, participants will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to effectively implement personalized learning in their classrooms, fostering an environment where each student can thrive according to their unique strengths and interests.

Daily Program
DAY 1
• Self Preparation for a short School presentation on Day 2
• Cultural Quiz (to be filled out pre-session) • Welcome Session - Networking between participants and Erasmus+ team
• Sharing of European core values
• Open space for participants to share ideas and discuss current challenges in the Education sector; collaborative opportunity to exchange future goals (activity)
• Icebreaking, dinner, week briefing and planning
DAY 2
• Definition and importance of personalized learning
• Discussion on the benefits of personalized learning for students and educators
• Identifying common challenges and potential solutions
• Examination of successful personalized learning implementations
• Group discussion and analysis of key takeaways
DAY 3
• Learner Profiles
• Creating and utilizing learner profiles to understand individual needs
• Activities to build sample learner profiles
• Learning Styles and Preferences
• Overview of different learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, etc.)
• Assessing personal learning styles and how they influence teaching
• Techniques for assessing students’ academic and personal needs
• Using data to inform personalized learning strategies
• Group Activity: Designing a personalized learning plan for a hypothetical student; Innovative Teaching Approaches
DAY 4
• Flexible Learning Environmens
• Designing flexible and adaptable learning spaces
• Incorporating technology and resources to support diverse learning paths
• Exploring various blended learning models (flipped classroom, rotation model, etc.)
• Implementing technology to facilitate personalized learning
• Integrating project-based learning to cater to individual interests and abilities.
• Group activity: Planning a project-based learning unit.
DAY 5
• Educational Technology Tools
• Overview of digital tools and platforms that support personalized learning
• Using data that can track student progress and adjust teaching strategies
• Creating Digital Content
• Techniques for creating engaging and interactive digital content.
• Group work: Developing digital learning materials.
DAY 6
• Integrating personalized learning into existing curricula
• Team teaching and collaborative planning for personalized learning
• Strategies for managing diverse learning paths within a single classroom
• Role-playing feedback sessions
• Methods for evaluating the effectiveness of personalized learning
• Tools for measuring student growth and engagement
• Group reflection and sharing of experiences from the course
