Imagine transforming your classroom into an engaging setting where knowledge is unlocked through riddles, clues, and collaborative challenges.
EduEscapeRoom invites teachers from all subject areas to immerse themselves in a unique experience that combines gamification, creativity, and cutting-edge technology.
Over an intensive week, you will learn how to design EduEscapeRoom experiences that motivate, challenge, and engage students, using Generative Artificial Intelligence tools to create narratives, clues, and interactive multimedia resources.
Blending theory and practice, this course takes you from understanding the principles of gamification to creating and presenting a fully functional Educational Escape Room, ready to be implemented in your professional context.
Regardless of the subject you teach, this innovative approach will allow you to:
Increase student engagement and motivation;
Promote collaborative work and creative problem-solving;
Integrate technology in a strategic and meaningful way;
Foster 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, communication, and autonomy.
Course Goals
Learning outcomes:
- Understand the core principles of gamification and their application in educational contexts;
- Explain the Escape Room methodology and its specific characteristics in an educational setting;
- Identify and apply Generative AI tools to design interactive narratives and challenges;
- Create and integrate multimedia resources into an Educational Escape Room;
- Plan, implement, and evaluate gamified learning experiences in both formal and non-formal contexts;
- Enhance student engagement, motivation, and collaboration through immersive activities;
- Share good practices and reflect on the potential of ERE to develop 21st-century skills;
- Improve ICT skills;
- Facilitate experience and cultural exchanges between peers;
- Enhance communicative competencies in English and social skills;
- Promote intercultural awareness;
- Identify & share good practices that can be implemented at a local level.
Daily Program
DAY 1
• Self Preparation for a short School presentation on Day 2
• Cultural Quiz (to be filled out pre-session) • Welcome Session - Networking between participants and Erasmus+ team
• Sharing of European core values
• Open space for participants to share ideas and discuss current challenges in the Education sector; collaborative opportunity to exchange future goals (activity)
• Icebreaking, dinner, week briefing and planning
DAY 2
• Course introduction and presentation of objectives
• Core principles of gamification
• Game elements applied to education
• Escape Room methodology: characteristics and pedagogical potential
• Practical examples of ERE
DAY 3
• Exploring Generative AI tools for creating narratives
• Strategies for designing riddles and challenges
• Introduction to multimedia and interactivity creation tools
DAY 4
• Practical development: creating narratives and challenges with AI
• Integration of multimedia resources
• Use of different platforms to structure an ERE
DAY 5
• Continuation of ERE project development
• Implementation of interactive elements and clues
• Strategies for gamified assessment
DAY 6
• Presentation of developed EREs
• Sharing experiences and good practices
• Critical analysis of the tools used
• Course roundup & review
